Martha Murphy, Painter

Below are the three posters I sell on the street. The first is the Chrysler Building. The original  oil on canvas was completed in 1998 and shows the reflectiveness at night of the top sphere of this beautiful example of art deco architecture in New York City. The second is the Statue of Liberty.  My sense of liberty comes from the sixties when our protest for social change was the raised arm.  Painting this image taught me how beautiful the torch was designed.

Each poster measures  24” x 36”  which will fit a standard size frame.  All are available for purchase.

The third is of a classroom.  My friend, Peggy, who I went to college with, always wanted to be a history teacher.   It’s taken me a while to find my way, but at a class reunion many years after graduation I ran into Peggy, a proud and wonderful history teacher.  I decided to paint this classroom with Peggy at the head of the class.  I should mention, I have a hard time painting Republicans, so my Presidents are Democrats with the exception of Presidents Washington and Lincoln.

The Classroom poster measures 22” x 28” and is also a standard size.

While all three posters use the gallery name Riverside Gallery, the gallery name originated from showing my art work in my apartment which is on Riverside Drive.

The posters sell for $15 each or 2 for $20.
